Learn the names, then find the places
Start with Study to browse countries and capitals by continent, search for a city and jump to it on the map. Explore the capital collection across six continents.
Switch to the capital quiz when you want to test recall. Four choices give you a way to practise without needing to spell every answer. Filter by continent and difficulty to focus on the places you are learning.
Choose how you practise
- Capitals & Flags: fifteen-question, multiple-choice rounds for practising country, capital and flag knowledge.
- Survival: three lives and a running streak. A wrong answer costs a heart.
- World Tour: regional routes with map, multiple-choice and typed geography questions, plus illustrated Visa stamps.
- Study: look up countries and capitals before testing yourself again.
A practical way to learn world capitals
Pick one continent instead of trying to memorise the whole list at once. Read its capitals in Study, take a quiz, then practise locating the cities you missed. Knowing that Canberra is Australia's capital is more useful when you can also place it relative to Sydney and Melbourne.
Use the world capitals directory for quick reference. Each guide includes coordinates, a memorable fact and nearby capitals. For example, compare Abu Dhabi with Doha to build a picture of the region.
Does the Daily only ask about capitals?
No. The Daily Challenge mixes capitals and other cities. Everyone receives the same five cities each UTC day, with one official attempt. Capital study is one part of the app, while the Daily tests broader city-location knowledge.
The app runs on iPhone and iPad. The website's free browser round lets you explore the satellite globe and sample map-pin scoring with capital questions before downloading.
